Every four years, February gives us a whole 24 hours of bonus footage to add to our year. Many people take this opportunity to "do something special" with their extra day,How to Command the Respect of Your Team. But why wait for Leap Day? Why not celebrate the "leaps" and risks we take every day when we venture outside of our comfort zone or work to improve our lives?
Of course change, especially life-altering change, is bone-shakingly frightening sometimes. The whole concept is fraught with a veritable minefield of "what ifs" that can be hard for us to see and get past in order to reach the destination point where our dreams lie. So I offer you the following "what ifs" along with some answers to help you take that leap, whatever it may be, and land safely on the other side!
1) What if I suck?
So suck. I'm a big fan of sucking. Being awful at the outset (often referred to in Eastern cultures as the possessing a beginner's mind) keeps you from getting cocky and is the ideal state from which to achieve perfection; those who think they don't suck often believe, incorrectly, that they have no more to learn. One of the things that I learned a long time ago is that it is often better to be a blank slate upon which those who are there to teach you can write than to come equipped with prejudices, techniques and ways of doing things that are inappropriate or even destructive to the new situation and that have to be unlearned before any real progress can be made. Learn to love your inner doofus. It's one of the things that keep you from stagnating at your current level of achievement.
2) What if get there and I hate it?
So hate it. It's hardly the end of the world. In fact, many cultures and religions believe that we're put here in this life to experience and enjoy all of the vast range of human experience, including being miserable and other negative emotions. And some people, such as writers, artists, musicians and the like, actually look forward to such times as a way to accumulate top-shelf material for their next project. So feel free to feel bad - revel in it, if you will - and then when you get bored, move on to the next amusement ride of life and give someone else a turn at whatever you were doing.
3) What if I love it so much that I'm torn about stopping to have a family, going to school, running off to join the circus (or whatever your previous long-term plans were)?
As the saying goes, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans for tomorrow". Plans have a way of becoming either "traps or scraps" as life has its own way with you. They can be traps by virtue of making you feel obligated to follow them, especially if you have "sunk costs" like a degree, family expectations or a long career invested in them, even when you no longer get any enjoyment out of that way of life. And they often end up scrapped when unforeseen circumstances blow us so far out to sea, as it were, that we no longer have any hope of paddling back to that particular shore in our lifetime. When that sort of event occurs in the absence of any real alternatives, the loss can be as devastating as a death. Learn to arrange your life so that you will enjoy it even if your long-range plans never come true. Then, when and if it's the right time to head out after your original goals, you'll have a great foundation to build on.
You should also learn to distinguish between "planning for" and "planning to do". If you have a goal you'd like to accomplish or reach one day, plan for it (stay healthy and take your vitamins if you want a family,children, save for tuition if you'd like to go to school, sharpen your tumbling skills if the circus is your raison d'etre, etc.), but don't worry so much about planning to do it, such as engaging in the process of creating a step-by-step 5-year plan - and then dealing with the attendant stress of not meeting your arbitrarily established milestones should life intervene, as it is wont to do. You'll know when you get there that it's time to start actively working toward your goal, assuming life doesn't take you in an entirely new direction before then, and by that time your life will may changed so much that quite probably none of your previously generated plans will be relevant anyway. Trying to fit your life into an established plan despite its protests to the contrary causes untold sorrow and pain. Live the life that makes you happy today, tomorrow and everyday, and let your long-term plans stretch and bend to accommodate your life rather than the other way around.
4) What if I get depressed, sick, lost, confused, etc. and can't keep up with the requirements of this new venture?
So don't keep up - fly, fall, wallow, soar, bounce, flop. It's just more material and more experience! Again - when you get bored, move on, move up, get medical or other help if necessary, and let someone else get on the ride.
5) What if I'm too lazy, too set in my ways, too undisciplined, eccentric, etc., to be a "player"?
Work with yourself, not against yourself. It's called working smarter, not harder. They make big ol' honking posters about it and stick them up on in break rooms everywhere. Learn to work with your strengths and around your weaknesses to get the most done with the least amount of effort and you'll be a step ahead of the rest of the floundering, struggling, gasping pack expending all their generative energy swimming upstream trying to do it the "right" way!
6) What I decide I want to do this, and then can't get a high-enough salary, make money at it, get famous, make it a success (or whatever your preferred form of compensation may be)?
Well,what does your brain forget to remind you, you could kick the guys in accounting in the shins and swipe their wallets while they're down, but that's really a short-term solution.
Remember, money doesn't always come in the form of money. Company cars, laptops, benefits, etc., can all be part of a corporate package and they don't hurt the guys in accounting as bad as being forced to add zeros to a check (or as bad as being kicked in the shins, for that matter). As for non-work-related changes, remember that living a happy life that you control can net you big-time compensation in the form of better health (and we all know how medical bills can add up), less stress, an effervescent sense of freedom that is hard to replicate without illegal drugs and other intangible benefits. It usually "pays" more to live a great life with less money than to live a miserable one with a better paycheck.
7) But really, what if there's a real cash-flow problem?
Pretend to be a religious holy person on a 'real world' sabbatical. Scale back your life, use the money you do make for the bare essentials and spend your free time doing good works. Stuff will come your way through networking, contacts, your good reputation, etc. Opening the doors of your life to other people allows for two-way travel, you know.
8) What if there's not enough money, freedom, compensation, etc., to accommodate plans I've already made?
You remember what I said about plans, right? Sometimes, you'll just have to choose between plans made then and dreams sought now. Another saying that speaks to this issue is as follows: "You can have anything you want in this life. You just can't have everything." Go over both your plans and your dreams. Which one gives you the greater feeling of joy? Which one, when you think about abandoning it, gives you the greater feeling of loss? It's occasionally a close call, but usually a simple process of prioritization and revisiting old, and sometime changed, values and needs shows a clear winner.
9) What if I buckle under the pressure?
Take some yoga classes - it makes buckling easier and more graceful, and you don't make those embarrassing popping noises in your knees. Plus, the meditation and stretching/breathing will make you less likely to buckle, as well. And learn to take wisdom from those grade-school fire-safety posters - sometimes you have to get really low in order to escape the heat and save yourself. Don't assume that a lowered posture is a sign of a lowered stature. Sometimes it can serve to take the heat off your back until the fire calms down.
10) What if I FAIL (gasp!) and have to return to (whatever life you left), and everyone will know and it will suck?
And so, we have come full circle - back to sucking. Suck, baby, suck! It's when life sucks that it quits being boring. And if you do have to go back, don't go back with your tail between your legs (get that thing removed, will you? It's disturbing when you wag it). Go back with an enhanced resume/life experience including all the new and nifty stuff you've learned. Present yourself as returned from a cross-training internship working along side the big guys, and now ready to take on greater (and greater recompensed) challenges! The "real" players do it all the time - why not you?

Consider where you are in life at the moment - in your career or business and in your relationships,I went to sleep last night with fantasies of all I would get done today. Up at 6. Isn't it true to say that they most important people in your life today were once complete and total strangers,3166 Ugg Sheepskin Cuff Tall Sand Boots? For some reason, at some particular point in your life, you connected with strangers who have made, quite possibly, a life-long difference - for better or for worse. In fact, if you actually think about it, you are where you are as a result of a series of seemingly random events. However, whether it be Carl Jung's concept of synchronicity, Deepak Chopra's take on 'synchro-destiny' or quantum physics' ideas on quantum entanglement, it may well be that these events were neither coincidental nor random.
Be that as it may, your short reflection on the now intimate though one-time strangers in your life, should have alerted you to something that can potentially move your life in all the wonderful directions that you heart desires - I am assuming that you have some idea of what you really what out of life, of course. If you haven't, then how are you going to get it! The key point that I'm making is that there are undoubtedly other important strangers roaming around out there who have the potential to take you life in all kinds of exciting and rewarding directions. The difficulty is that you've no idea who they are!
Unfortunately, normal people often think they know who the next most important person in their lives is. They think it's going to be the person that interviews them for the job they really want - or they think they'll meet them when they go for their American Idol or X Factor audition. Consequently, they prepare themselves for what they perceive as the big event - when the big event may is going on right before your very eyes. Life does not work according to your plans - the best things in life just happen - and, more often than not, you already have the evidence to prove it. The real business of life is done by what the normal person might consider chance. I have seen so many clients' careers change as a result of apparently chance encounters in bars, in elevators, on trains, in airport lounges waiting for delayed flights - I've even seen people's lives changed as a result of people quite literally bumping into each other in road accidents,"Actions!
Not only are you wrong if you think that you will get what you want out of life by rigorously following some preconceived plan, you also, as a normal person have a couple of major problems on your hands. First of all, as a child, you were probably told never to talk to strangers. This was done with good reason at the time - but the subconscious mind is still clutching on to the subliminal message that you must avoid all strangers at all costs. Next time you're on a train, metro, tube, subway or bus, next time you're in an elevator, notice how careful people are to avoid eye contact and, if possible, any form of contact at all. And, yet you could be standing next to the next most important stranger in your life in the elevator. How will you know if you don't make some form of connection?
But, in trying to making a connection, we have a further problem. Normal adults normally make no connection at all - even with people that they think they're actually connecting with. From childhood, we have developed a capacity for categorization - essentially a psychological facility that means that we don't have to waste our precious attention on evaluating and making an appropriate value judgment in relation to anyone new that we meet in our lives. There's the odd exception to this mindlessness - the most notable being when you fall head-over-heels in love with someone because, in doing so, your subconscious attention is grabbed. That aside, you never really meet any of the new people that you think you meet. Your subconscious mind makes up your mind for you within about four seconds - not enough time to even learn their name! Worst of all, you've no idea this is going on because it is subconscious.
So, given that the people who are of paramount importance in your life today were once complete and total strangers and given that we all have to keep moving and growing in our lives (disagree with this and you might as well finish yourself off because you're already as good as dead!), how are you going to spot the next most important stranger? You're going to have to let yourself off the leash of normal programming that stops you taking the tiny leap of faith that is required to actually and simply engage with your fellow human being. The funny thing is that, when you do, you will find that others are crying out for a little contact. Now, I'm not suggesting that you start behaving inappropriately in public places! What I am suggesting is, however, that you open your eyes, tune into the reality of the here and now,but is it even worth entering one at this point, put your psychological antennae up and come out of your normal shell. What have you got to lose? Because there's so much more out of life to be gained.

The Secret of the Void
All Alone in Here
Several years ago I had a quiet but intense experience at the wedding of a close friend. I was early, and as I sat at my table I watched the other guests entering the room. One came in elated, dancing like a performer on stage. Another was withdrawn, inward, as if mulling over some sadness or pain. Some were eating, some talking, some laughing and some sitting quietly.
But what I saw with an almost painful intensity was that each one of us, no matter what we were doing or with whom we were doing it, was essentially in our own world. Not necessarily lonely,3166 Ugg Sheepskin Cuff Tall Sand Boots, but alone, our thoughts, longings, our selves on some core level separate from everyone around us.
Once, many years ago, my four-year-old cousin was standing in the living room with her mother and grandmother when she suddenly burst out, "I'm all alone in here!" When her mother hastened to reassure her that they were right there with her in the room, she responded,the cellulite will inevitably return. So, "No, in here. I'm all alone in here."
Every human being experiences this essential aloneness. Sometimes we're not aware of it at all, and sometimes the awareness, like it was for my little cousin, is profound. But whatever the case, it's always there.
What Conceals Reveals
Kabbalah explains that in truth there is nothing but G-d. Everything that exists, whether physical or spiritual, is simply a highly limited expression of its Creator, somewhat like each of your thoughts and actions is a little expression of you.
The infinite light of G-d, as its name implies, is overwhelming, filling every space. Left unmuted, this all-encompassing light would make it impossible for anything else to exist, just like a ray of light cannot exist as a separate entity within the body of the sun. So, in order to allow for Creation in all of its limitless details and forms, G-d had to conceal His own infinite light. This concealment, known as tzimtzum, is what enables us to be. And more, it allows us to experience ourselves as real, solid, and the center of our universe.
This Big Lie" this core illusion of aloneness and solidity is what allows us to exist as separate and unique human beings. In its raw, unrectified state, it cuts us off from the truth. But ultimately we are destined to see through the walls, transcend the illusion, and fulfill our potential as uniquely magnificent expressions of the Divine.
The Sound of the Void
The illusion is powerful, but not total. If we were completely cut off from an awareness of what lies beyond, chances are we would be perfectly content. There would be no reason to question ourselves or our existence, no drive to continuously experience more.
But we are not cut off completely. A glimmer of the Infinite light from before Creation surrounds and permeates each person who walks this earth. This light is what gives us the profound sense that there is something else out there. Only the something doesn't always feel like an actual something. It often feels like something missing - a void.
This void, this missing, hovers at the edge of our consciousness, threatening our comfortable sense of solidity and bringing with it an essential longing for. well, for something. Something more.
This sensation of something missing is actually the glimmer of something that is there,but they are not., but too vast and amazing to be perceived by our ordinary senses. But as physical beings in a physical world, we are not naturally inclined to relate to it in this esoteric way. In fact, the non-physical all too often makes us feel vulnerable and uncomfortable. So, instead of slowly allowing our eyes to adjust to this more subtle light, we avoid the experience altogether, or seek to fill the void with physical things.
The subtle awareness of the void pulls us relentlessly toward the next high, the next success, the more exciting relationship, the bigger, flashier toy. The feelings it triggers - like sadness, depression, anxiety or dissatisfaction drive us to eat too much, drink too much, work too much, spend too much, need too much; in short, whatever it takes to avoid facing the threatening insubstantiality of it all.
But, as uncomfortable and threatening as it can feel, if you are willing to face the discomfort, to stop running and listen, you can begin to explore the secret of the void, to expand your ability to see and hear things that lie outside your normal range.
Like a beautiful dream whose impression lingers, like a song that stirs memories and feelings from long ago, like a perfume that lingers faintly in the air, the music of the void can stir forgotten memories and open your heart. It can speak to you of where you came from, where you are destined to go and who you are destined to be.
A Deeper Level of Life
In Hebrew, each letter of the alphabet has a gematria, a numerical equivalent. Whenever the letters of one word are numerically equivalent to the letters of a different word, it points to a secret relationship between the two.
It is fascinating to know that the Hebrew word for void, challal, is exactly numerically equivalent to the word chaim, which means life.
The message is simple. In being willing to embrace the vulnerability, to stop running away and instead stay present and expand your ability to see, you can begin to reconnect with what has been concealed from you, the part of you that is most truly and infinitely alive.
Eating in Bed Maintaining the Illusion of Being Solid
Most evenings, after I'm finished with the tasks of the day, I reward myself by getting in bed and relaxing under the covers with a book. It feels secure and cozy, reassuringly solid and safe. And to further enhance the comforting feeling I almost always take a little bedtime snack with me. In fact, I sometimes take more than one.
I've been doing this for many years, and, as is the case with most deeply ingrained habits, I've become more than a little attached to it.
Recently I decided to give it up. I stopped eating in bed, and in doing so I discovered that my comforting habit had been covering up the sound of the void. The perceptions and sensations I began to experience were not necessarily comfortable. In fact, new, bigger things rarely are. But they were rewarding and profound.
As physical beings, we are primed to seek permanence and stability. But the bad news the paradoxical news - is that physical things are inherently unstable and impermanent. Coming face to face with this fact can be scary. It can feel, indeed, like hovering over a dark and formless void. It's important to remember that this darkness is really a much vaster and more brilliant form of light one that's simply too great for our senses to contain.
Many of us spend our lives attempting to block it out, to run from the darkness, or to create stability and solidity by clinging to things that are intrinsically unstable. This,wrinkles, however, does nothing to change the darkness, nor to expand our capacity to see. We remain trapped in a world of struggle and illusion. But if, instead, we train our eyes, bit by bit, to see the concealed light, to hear the subtle music, we can begin to set ourselves free and to use this freedom to make a difference in our own lives and in the lives of those around us.
Do You Eat in Bed?
Whether you eat in bed or not, I am certain that there are things you do to block out the discomfort of the void. Maybe you eat or drink or work or sleep too much. Or maybe you take solace in having very strong opinions, in making yourself feel bigger and more solid by being right, criticizing, blaming or complaining. Maybe you try to lose yourself in a relationship, or maybe you avoid the vulnerability that an intimate relationship brings.
Whatever it is that you do - every now and then, just don't. Instead, let yourself be open to something anything - that challenges the way you've seen things till now. Going without that extra cookie, that glass of wine, or the need to prove your point might bring up feelings or perceptions that have something important to tell you. Giving up a protective habit is one of the most powerful ways to expand your capacity to see and hear what the habit is covering up. So listen and learn or better yet, do something that reflects a new, higher way of being.
Maybe you can let yourself be vulnerable to someone else where you'd normally be defensive, to really listen rather than defend. Or maybe you can take an hour away from work to sit with your children and smile into their eyes, without having to accomplish anything at all. Learn some Torah, give some charity, or take a few minutes to open your heart to your Creator. These things bring more Divine light into the darkness and expand your ability to experience that light in your everyday life.

A Deeper Level of Life
In Hebrew, each letter of the alphabet has a gematria, a numerical equivalent. Whenever the letters of one word are numerically equivalent to the letters of a different word, it points to a secret relationship between the two.
It is fascinating to know that the Hebrew word for void, challal, is exactly numerically equivalent to the word chaim, which means life.
The message is simple. In being willing to embrace the vulnerability, to stop running away and instead stay present and expand your ability to see, you can begin to reconnect with what has been concealed from you, the part of you that is most truly and infinitely alive.
Eating in Bed Maintaining the Illusion of Being Solid
Most evenings, after I'm finished with the tasks of the day, I reward myself by getting in bed and relaxing under the covers with a book. It feels secure and cozy, reassuringly solid and safe. And to further enhance the comforting feeling I almost always take a little bedtime snack with me. In fact, I sometimes take more than one.
I've been doing this for many years, and, as is the case with most deeply ingrained habits, I've become more than a little attached to it.
Recently I decided to give it up. I stopped eating in bed, and in doing so I discovered that my comforting habit had been covering up the sound of the void. The perceptions and sensations I began to experience were not necessarily comfortable. In fact, new, bigger things rarely are. But they were rewarding and profound.
As physical beings, we are primed to seek permanence and stability. But the bad news the paradoxical news - is that physical things are inherently unstable and impermanent. Coming face to face with this fact can be scary. It can feel, indeed, like hovering over a dark and formless void. It's important to remember that this darkness is really a much vaster and more brilliant form of light one that's simply too great for our senses to contain.
Many of us spend our lives attempting to block it out, to run from the darkness, or to create stability and solidity by clinging to things that are intrinsically unstable. This,wrinkles, however, does nothing to change the darkness, nor to expand our capacity to see. We remain trapped in a world of struggle and illusion. But if, instead, we train our eyes, bit by bit, to see the concealed light, to hear the subtle music, we can begin to set ourselves free and to use this freedom to make a difference in our own lives and in the lives of those around us.
Do You Eat in Bed?
Whether you eat in bed or not, I am certain that there are things you do to block out the discomfort of the void. Maybe you eat or drink or work or sleep too much. Or maybe you take solace in having very strong opinions, in making yourself feel bigger and more solid by being right, criticizing, blaming or complaining. Maybe you try to lose yourself in a relationship, or maybe you avoid the vulnerability that an intimate relationship brings.
Whatever it is that you do - every now and then, just don't. Instead, let yourself be open to something anything - that challenges the way you've seen things till now. Going without that extra cookie, that glass of wine, or the need to prove your point might bring up feelings or perceptions that have something important to tell you. Giving up a protective habit is one of the most powerful ways to expand your capacity to see and hear what the habit is covering up. So listen and learn or better yet, do something that reflects a new, higher way of being.
Maybe you can let yourself be vulnerable to someone else where you'd normally be defensive, to really listen rather than defend. Or maybe you can take an hour away from work to sit with your children and smile into their eyes, without having to accomplish anything at all. Learn some Torah, give some charity, or take a few minutes to open your heart to your Creator. These things bring more Divine light into the darkness and expand your ability to experience that light in your everyday life.

Look Nice with Nice Things
I just don't get it,get rid of everything they can, the other day someone asked me how much my bag was, I told them, they were shocked at the amount I'd spent (especially since I was saying what a great deal I had found on it, which it was a great deal). I asked her how much she spent on her not-so-stunning bag, and she said $15.99. Come on!
Are you really so cheap that you won't spend more than $20 on a handbag,When you are absolutely certain that you are ready to begin to lose weight. You will carry it numerous times. I'm not saying spend thousands, I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to look great with nice things. You could even get a really stylish, not so top designer handbag for like $50 - $60. You can also get a cheaper, out of season designer handbag for like $100 - $200.
I'd say that's the trick, buying not too old, but out of season designer handbags, the price tag gets cut so low compared to original price. They are still top quality, handmade, stunning designer handbags. If you cannot afford to pay the top handbag prices, this is the best step in the right direction.
But overall I guess my point is just that I don't understand why you would not want to wear nice things. People who don't know you are judging you by what your wearing, don't you want them to think you look great?

Shopping with my boyfriend, I spotted my weakness,3166 Ugg Sheepskin Cuff Tall Sand Boots, a cute bag on sale, immediately picking it up without a second thought I marched over to the cashier to buy it. My boyfriend seemed stunned, his point of view was that I had just got a new bag,In summary, and was yet to need another.
From my point of view, I was stunned, how could I not need another designer purses and handbag? Sure I did just buy a new bag, quite an expensive one at that, but that does not mean I could not use another one. You can always use another designer handbag!
After our little debate I ended up not buying the bag, not because I didn't need it, but because it really was not my style and I probably would never have worn it anyway. This means I guess I didn't really need it.
Why is it though as soon as we see a sale we just have to buy it, without a second thought, let alone logic? We could have thousands of designer handbags and still want more.

Every person's blood is one of four major types. A, B, AB, or O. Blood types are determined by the types of antigens on the blood cells.
Rh describes the factor that is found on the red blood cells of most people. What if I am Rh negative and pregnant?

Sensitization to the disease occurs when the woman's blood is exposed to the fetus's blood. The antibodies attack and destroy the Rh positive red blood cells of the fetus, a progressive anemia develops and in severe cases, there can be heart failure or even death. This hemolytic disease usually does not affect the first pregnancy, but once a woman has produced antibodies, all future Rh positive pregnancies are at risk. Antibody production can be prevented by giving Rh Immune Globulin (Rhlg or RhoGam).
What is RhoGam and what does it do?
RhoGam is a solution containing Rh antibodies which is injected into the Rh negative mother during pregnancy and just after delivery,as well as a good eight glasses of water a day to flush toxins, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or induced abortion.

Aha's For Normalizing Combination Skin
Often the biggest frustration for those with combination skin is caring for it properly. Having both dry and oily skin areas on your face can make skin care seem almost impossible. There are, however, things that you can do to care for and keep your combination skin healthy and feeling good.
For one thing, some areas of your face may feel tight after you wash. This will typically be on the parts of your face not included in the T-zone area. These areas will likely also look flaky and dull and may feel rough.
